La réunion annuelle du CAETS s’est tenue à Calgary du 13 au 17 Juillet, à l’invitation de l’Académie canadienne, sur le thème de « l’environnement durable ». Bruno Jarry, qui préside le Comité de liaison avec les organisations internationales, y a représenté l’Académie. Cette réunion a été l’occasion de proposer des programmes d'actions communs avec l'ICSU (International Council of Scientific Unions).

Au sein du CAETS, plusieurs groupes de travail réunissent des experts issus des Académies membres :
• Strategies for highly efficient conversion and reuse of matter and/or energy organisé par la Suisse
(Status Report to the CAETS Council on July 17, 2009 )
• Strategies for decreasing noise in urban environment organisé par la Suède et les États-Unis (rapport
terminé)
• Accelerating the technological response to the climate change: new policy and financial mechanisms
organisé par l’Australie (rapport en cours).
