Marion GUILLOU designated for a new term as Chairperson of the Board of Ecole Polytechnique

The Council of Ministers, March 9, 2001 confirmed the designation of Ms Marion GUILLOU as Chairperson of the Board at Ecole Polytechnique.

Ms Marion GUILLOU is Chairperson and CEO of the National Institute for Agronomic Research (INRA). She graduated from Ecole Polytechnique (X73), hold a PhD in physico-chemistry of biotransformations; she is a fellow of NATF and the French Academy of Agriculture.

This new term of office comes at a time when Ecole Polytechnique is finalising its 4-year Budget and Policy Plan (2012-2016). Two major civil engineering programmes will be launched: the construction of Campus Paris Saclay, with partners from ParisTech and an in-depth review of its own teaching programmes.

In the new presidency function, as head of the EP Board, Ms GUILLOU will be able to pursue with the Board Members the mission of transforming Ecole Polytechnique to ensure a strengthened position among the best French higher education and research establishments.

There will be a proactive policy to “widen” the horizons of Ecole Polytechnique, through a greater diversity of its undergraduates, a stronger international flavour to the programmes, more and better exchanges with the private sector industries, enterprises … and an enhancement of the partnerships signed with other academic and scientific partners.
